Dr. Mark Fedikow , , HBSc., M.Sc., Ph.D., P.Eng., P.Geo., C.P.G. ,  President & Director

Mark has 40 years of industry and government experience as an exploration geochemist and mineral deposits geologist. He has worked for major and junior mining exploration companies and the Manitoba Geological Survey completing his employment at the Survey as Chief Geologist of the Mineral Deposits Section. In 2001, Mark was the recipient of the Provincial Geologists Medal, a Canadian national award for outstanding geoscientific achievement. He has successfully applied partial and selective extraction geochemical technologies including the Mobile Metal Ions Process (MMI) in exploration programs for lode and placer gold, base metal massive sulphides, platinum group metals, magmatic nickel-copper, porphyry copper deposits and kimberlite / carbonatite in a variety of geological settings and overburden environments. Mark has published numerous articles on mineral deposits and their geochemical expressions in rock, soil and vegetation sample media. He is a Fellow of the Association of Applied Geochemists. Mark is also on the Board of Directors of VMS Ventures Inc. (VMS - TSX.V)

Ms. Patricia (Patti) Tirschmann , , HBSc., M.Sc., P. Geo. ,  Vice President, Exploration

Ms. Tirschmann has 25 years of exploration experience specializing in magmatic nickel-copper sulphide deposits. Most recently, Patti served for six years as Vice President, Exploration for Continental Nickel Limited where she assembled and led the exploration team which discovered and delineated new nickel sulphide zones and established NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimates at the Ntaka Hill project in Tanzania. Prior to joining Continental Nickel, Patti worked for over eighteen years with Falconbridge Limited/Xstrata plc in various roles including Senior Geologist, International Nickel Sulphide Exploration. She has extensive experience developing, implementing and supervising exploration programs in the major Canadian nickel belts of Sudbury, Thompson and Raglan and has international experience comprising projects in Norway, Greenland, Alaska, Chile, Australia and Tanzania. Patti possesses graduate and post-graduate degrees in Geological Sciences from the University of Manitoba and is a registered professional geoscientist in the Province of Ontario.

Ms. Sharon Taylor , , B.Sc., M.Sc., P.Geo. , Chief Geophysicist

Ms. Taylor has over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration, including thirteen years with Falconbridge, Noranda, and Xstrata. She has experience in both volcanogenic massive sulfide and nickel exploration in major mining camps including Kidd Creek, Bathurst, Raglan, Sudbury and Kabanga. Her most recent employment with Continental Nickel included nickel exploration at the St Stephen Project in New Brunswick and the Nachingwea Nickel Project in Tanzania. Ms. Taylor’s area of expertise is the application and interpretation of EM data and integrating results from airborne, ground and downhole EM methods.

Mr. James (Jim) Sparling , , B.A., B.Sc. MBA, P.Geo. ,  Project Manager

James Sparling is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan (B.Sc. Geology - Advanced, 1984) and the Royal Roads University School of Business (MBA, 2003). He is a member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. He has over 25 years of experience in exploration and mining operations, including broad based experience in base metals, gold and nickel exploration. James was part of a team which discovered four economic ore bodies, the team received the PDAC Bill Dennis Award in 2000, for Canadian Discovery & Prospecting Success. All four ore bodies were placed into production, with one, the 777 orebody in Flin Flon still operating. James worked as a Geophysical Crew Chief, Project Geologist, and Senior Exploration Geologist with Hudbay Minerals Inc. from June 1, 1994 to April 1, 2003. Prior to joining North American Nickel, he worked in various senior managerial roles for a number of Vancouver based resource development companies from 2003 to 2012.

Mr. Gerry Katchen , , B.Sc., P.Geo. , Senior Project Geologist

Mr. Katchen has over 16 years of experience in greenfields/brownfields exploration and mining. His exploration experience includes Nickel-Copper-PGM’s and Archaen greenstone hosted gold. Gerry’s recent involvement with Continental Nickel Ltd. on their Nachingwea Project contributed to the discovery of new Ni-Cu zones, as well as the project’s 43-101 compliant resource estimates. He is a registered professional geoscientist in the province of Ontario.

Mr. John Pattison , , B.Sc., P.Geo. ,  Chief Geologist

John Pattison is a professional geoscientist with a B.Sc. degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Toronto. He has a strong technical background and over 25 years experience in copper-zinc and nickel-copper-PGE sulphide exploration. He specializes in the effective application of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) technology to mineral exploration. Most recently, he was Chief Geologist with Exploration Syndicate, Inc. where he was part of a team of geoscientists that discovered high-grade copper-zinc massive sulphide on the western side of the Flin Flon belt at Suggi Lake, Saskatchewan in 2008. From 1983 to 2002, John worked with Falconbridge Limited and associated companies where he was responsible for managing base metal, PGE and gold exploration projects throughout Canada and southern Africa. After leaving Falconbridge in 2002 and prior to joining Exploration Syndicate in 2006, John provided geological consulting services to major and junior mining companies including Falconbridge and Anglo American.
